At Glasform, we believe in keeping the ancient art of glassblowing alive, bringing together tradition and creativity to create something truly magical. Situated in the scenic Fylde Coast, just a short journey from Blackpool, Preston, and Lytham St Annes, our studio offers a unique experience for art enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone curious about the enthralling process of glassmaking.
Step into a World of Artistic Wonder
When you visit Glasform, you're stepping into a rich history of craftsmanship and artistry. Our location, Pointer House Farm, holds the character of its past as a dairy farm, now transformed into a crucible of artistic creation. With the furnace running 365 days a year, the same building that once housed cows now fosters the creation of stunning art glass pieces.
The experience of watching our glassblowers at work is like stepping back in time. You'll see them employ techniques that are hundreds of years old, crafting each piece with a level of care and detail that is simply mesmerizing. Our informal setting encourages visitors to engage, ask questions, and truly appreciate the skill involved in transforming raw materials into beautiful, intricate artworks.
The Craft Behind the Creation
Founded by John Ditchfield, a veteran glassmaker whose passion for the craft was ignited during a holiday job in 1968, Glasform has grown into a hub of artistic activity. John's journey from an apprentice to a master, learning from Italian and Venetian masters and discovering the glass of the Art Nouveau period, has deeply influenced the artwork produced at Glasform.
Our studio is not just a place of business but a gallery of living history, with each piece reflecting the travels, experiments, and learning of a dedicated artist. Besides running the furnace and creating glass, John has collaborated with other artists and craftsmen on various architectural and artistic projects across Europe. The wealth of experience and knowledge accumulated over the years is visible in the aesthetics and quality of every piece leaving our studio.
Visit Us and Experience Glasform
Our studio is open from Monday to Friday, 10 am-4 pm, and we welcome visitors who wish to explore or purchase our glassworks. With each visit, you get the chance to explore our showroom where completed pieces are displayed against the serene backdrop of our simple, elegant interior - a setting perfectly designed to highlight the brilliant colours and intricate designs of our work.
Please remember that due to rising energy costs, glassblowing sessions at the furnace are not conducted every day. To avoid disappointment and ensure you witness the magic of glassblowing, we advise calling our studio at 01253 893020 or emailing enquiries@glasform.com before you plan your visit.
Special Saturday Openings and Bank Holiday Visits
We understand that weekdays might not be suitable for everyone, which is why we're also open on selected Saturdays and Bank Holidays by appointment. Our next Saturday openings are scheduled for March 30th, April 27th, and May 25th from 11 am to 4 pm. This gives you the perfect opportunity to make a day of it, immerse yourself in the art of glassblowing, and even pick up a unique piece to take home.

While we cherish our local visitors and customers, Glasform’s creations have reached global audiences. John Ditchfield's work has been exhibited and sold in multiple countries, including the USA, Canada, Japan, and many European countries, making Glasform a brand recognised not just in Lancashire or the UK, but worldwide.
